The renowned artist from Vitoria, Enrique Fernández de Romarategui, showcases his work in one of the most efficient Passivhaus buildings in the world.
Kora Green City will host the exhibition “EF Romarategui” in its space The Lounge, located at Plaza del Renacimiento, 12. Curated by RegalArte Romarategui, the exhibition will open on April 25 at 19:30h with the presence of the artist Enrique Fernández de Romarategui and will remain open to the public until June 2, 2025. This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with the artist and explore a selection of works resulting from over three decades of artistic exploration.
For more than thirty years, Enrique Fernández de Romarategui and his partner, architect Pablo Ezquerra Bastida (who passed away in 2021), shared a creative space in Vitoria-Gasteiz that functioned more as a laboratory than a traditional workshop. From that space, they explored the interaction between form, color, and texture—pushing the boundaries of visual expression, greatly inspired by early 20th-century European avant-gardes, especially the Russian avant-garde. Their collaboration gave birth to a unique creative universe where painting, kinetic sculpture, and graphic work converge in a distinctive technique: reducing the figurative to the verge of abstraction

In 2024, aiming to preserve and continue this legacy, Enrique Fernández de Romarategui, together with Marta Fernández de Romarategui as administrator, launched the RegalArte Romarategui project. The exhibition features a carefully curated selection of works from EL ESTUDIO, inviting intimate introspection and revealing complex reflections behind seemingly simple forms. “This exhibition is a tribute to experimentation and to our bond with Vitoria, a place where art and sustainability speak to one another,” says the artist.

Kora Green City, a benchmark in sustainability as one of the most efficient accommodations in the world, strengthens its commitment to the city’s cultural life.
